Tractor cab dashboard vent louvre

Directional dash vents on cabs from the 1980s onward — most are a variation of two or three patterns.

1Why it fails

What goes wrong with the original.

Decades of cab heat and direct sun through the screen. The vanes go brittle, the pivot pins shear, and the vent either jams open or falls into the dashboard.

2 · Material

ASA

It sits behind glass in the hottest part of the cab. ASA's heat resistance is well above what a dashboard reaches; PLA would deform on the first hot afternoon.

3 · How it is printed

Orientation, infill and fixings

Vanes printed flat for a clean face, pins solid. We measure the housing aperture and pivot spacing from your original so it clicks into the existing surround.

4 · Price and time

£8–15 · indicative

Quoted properly from your photograph. Ready in about 3 working days from the original or a good picture; batches take a little longer and cost less per part.
